Rich haul by Srinivasa Rao

VISAKHAPATNAM: Off-spinner S.H. Srinivasa Rao’s five-wicket haul earned a 43-run win for Srikakulam over Vizianagaram in the two-day league match of ACA North Zone under-19 inter-district tournament at Vizianagaram on Thursday.

In the other match Visakhapatnam captain D. Siva Kumar scored a splendid century (117) to pull his team out of the woods and ensure first innings lead over East Godavari. Visakhapatnam resumed at 100 for seven in reply to East Godavari’s score of 123.

The scores: Srikakulam 131 and 183 (Ch. Muralikrishna 72, B. Janakiram 32, B. Diwakar Rao four for 48) bt Vizianagaram 99 and 172 (P. Satya Reddy 70, S.S.S. Bahadur 53 n.o., S.H. Srinivasa Rao five for 50).

East Godavari 123 and 143 for seven (G. Vamsi Manohar 57, K. Rajiv Krishna five for 41) drew with Visakhapatnam: 247 (D. Siva Kumar 117, G. Ravichandra 34, G. Brahmananda Reddy 29, K. Rajiv Krishna 29). — Special Correspondent
