HYDERABAD: The Ranga Reddy District Land Reforms Tribunal has found that 1,913 acres of land held by the Sanghi Group of industries was in excess of the ceiling under the Andhra Pradesh Land Reforms (Ceiling on Agriculture Holdings) Act.

The Tribunal issued this order here on Friday, two days after it declared 1,363 acres of lands belonging to the Ramoji Group of companies as excess.

The Sanghi Group owned by Congress MP Girish Sanghi, and his brothers, runs the Telugu daily Vaartha and holds 2,770 acres of land in and around Hayathnagar in Ranga Reddy district of which 1,913 acres has now been held as excess. More orders soon

Sources said the Tribunal is likely to issue some more orders in the next few days relating to lands held by IT major Satyam besides real estate companies like Srinidhi and Narne Estates, together measuring over 2,000 acres.

The affected parties can go in for an appeal before the Appellate Tribunal.

T. Manikyala Rao, Revenue Divisional Officer, Ranga Reddy (East), who heads the Land Reforms Tribunal, was dealing with an extent of 2,953 acres in a total of nine cases, eight of them relating to the Sanghis.
