SANGAREDDY: Former president A. P. J. Abdul Kalam will visit Medak district on the eve of Independence Day to participate in a series of programmes organized by Lead India, an organization that has been working in Medak and Karimnagar districts for the past three years. The former president will attend the programme at the Sports stadium. The programme includes launching the Lead India magazine’s first edition, CD and Audiocassettes. This will be followed by a presentation by the Lead India and cultural programme by students. In all twenty to thirty thousand students are expected to attend the programme. Inspired by Kalam
Speaking to The Hindu the Lead India’s communications officer R. Praveen said that the organization was established on the principle of Lead youth to lead India and the world. Lead India organizes summer camps in rural areas for the students studying from 6 to 10 class in Government schools. The resource persons are drawn from different parts of the State. The summer camps provide accommodation for the participants. Praveen Kumar said that Lead India camps have been conducted in almost all Government schools in the district. Lead India would soon introduce education on HIV and discrimination of girl child . District Collector B. Venkatesam said that the former president expressed his wish to study the programme closely when he met him at the Rastrapathi Bhavan.
