Admissions for music courses in progress

KARUR: Admissions are under way at Government Music School here for certificate courses including ‘kuralisai,’ ‘bharatanatyam,’ ‘nagaswaram,’ ‘thavil’ and ‘Devaram.’

Candidates should have passed at least Standard VIII and aged between 12 and 25.

Based on their interest, in select cases, relaxation is allowed in case of minimum educational qualification. From this year, violin and mridangam courses are being introduced and hostel arrangement would be made for outstation students, it was stated in a release.
