Staff Reporter

Allege encroachment of water body

Seeking support:TRS leaders from Patancheru mandal submitting a memorandum to Medak district judge KM Nagabhushan Rao on Friday.

SANGAREDDY: Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) on Friday urged the Medak district Judge K.M.Nagabhushan Rao to visit Kotha Cheruvu of Aminpur in Patancheru mandal, which was illegally encroached by the realtors.

Contempt of court

TRS former district president M.Raghunandan Rao, Patancheru mandal party president Basaweswar, Kumar Yadav, and S.Raghuveer met the district judge in his chambers here and submitted a memorandum asking him to initiate action on the district revenue officials and police for contempt of court. The TRS argued that the administration took no action to stop the encroachment of the water body despite directions to do so by the former judge Devi Prasad who visited the site and asked the administration to halt the works initiated by the realtors. They said that the High Court in its direction, prohibited construction in the FTL and Sikham lands to safe guard water bodies that irrigate hundreds of acres of land. Later speaking To The Hindu, Raghunandan Rao said that the judge had already spoken to the Collector and the Superintendent of police R.B.Nayak and assured him immediate action.
