TIRUPATTUR: One person was injured and admitted to the Tirupattur Government Hospital following a fire that broke out in a private rice mill at A.K.Mottur near here on Friday morning.
Police said Sivakumar (28) sustained fire injuries while trying to save those trapped in the fire at the rice mill. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
However, the Fire Service personnel said that around seven to eight barrels of adulterated petrol had been stored in the rice mill for outside sales. One of the employees Raja had attempted to set fire to a gas stove, which was near to one of the petrol barrels to cook food. This had resulted to the outbreak of fire in the rice mill.
