BJP not for reopening old wounds

Special Correspondent

MUMBAI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) feels that reviving the Srikrishna Commission report was tantamount to reopening old wounds. Mr Prakash Javadekar, party spokesperson told reporters today that the BJP and the Sena had rejected the report when it came out. But since then the Congress -Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was in power. What had they done in the last nine years? he asked.

He said the way some parties are putting it, the blasts were justified because of the communal riots of 1992-93. He said neither the blasts nor the riots could be justified. This should not become a political game. People were being tried in court and there was a due process of law being followed, he added.
