VISAKHAPATNAM: A group of 25 civilian employees of the Eastern Naval Command on Friday set off for a Himalayan trekking expedition. The trekkers will reach Helong base camp via New Delhi and Haridwar and trek through Panar, Mandal and Rudhanath in the high altitude regions. The trekkers return here on Aug. 26. Chief of Staff Officer (personnel and administration) Jayawant Korde, himself a Himalayan trekker, flagged off the expedition. He also provided tips, guidelines and suggestions to the trekkers before flagging off them. Pat for victory
The State council of AITUC congratulated its affiliate, Singareni Collery Workers Union on its victory in the election held on Wednesday to determine the recognised union of the Singareni Collieries. AITUC State president V.V. Rama Rao thanked TNTUC for supporting AITUC in the election.
