ALAPPUZHA: The controversial steel snake boat, Aries Punnamada Chundan, designed and produced by the Aries Group of Companies, is all set for international recognition with the Dubai Government gearing up for a tie-up with the Group to design innovative crafts. Though the Aries Punnamada Chundan was not around for the 55th Nehru Trophy Boat Race held here on Saturday, it will be among those competing in the Dubai Snake Boat Race proposed by the Dubai Government, Aries officials said. The Aries Punnamada Chundan, courtesy its steel frame, was not allowed to compete in the event last year. It was also not allowed to participate in the cultural boat procession preceding the races, the company’s officials said.
