I feel relieved, says Darshanapur

GULBARGA: Minister for Agricultural Marketing Sharanabasappa Darshanapur says he feels vindicated and relieved after Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy rejected the recommendation of Lokayukta Santosh Hegde that he and Minister for Youth Services and Sports Alkod Hanumanthappa be dropped from the Cabinet.

The Lokayukta made such a recommendation because the two Ministers did not submit their statements of assets and liabilities in time.

Mr. Darshanapur said here on Saturday that he had been on tenterhooks for the past couple of months after the Lokayukta wrote to the Chief Minister recommending action against him. The Lokayukta could have condoned the delay in submitting the statement. — Special Correspondent
