Monchengladbach (Germany): India continued its good showing in the DKV (under-21) junior hockey tournament, fighting back to beat the home team by the odd goal in three in a Pool B encounter on Friday. After Tobiaz Lietz had put Germany ahead, India levelled through Jagwant Singh before half-time. Pramod Kumar hit the match-winner in the final minutes. India finished on top of Pool B with a tally of eight points with a goal difference of plus nine (12-3) followed by Spain with seven points (goal difference plus 5). Germany gained only a third spot with three points with Poland taking the last place. In Pool A, Netherlands, which walloped Malaysia 8-2, moved to the top spot with six points followed by Belgium (6 points), England (3) and Malaysia (3). In the semifinals, India takes on Belgium while Netherlands takes on Spain. Germany takes on Malaysia and Poland meets England in the classification matches for 5-8. The final is scheduled for Sunday. — Hockey Correspondent
