Chipli on song

Bangalore: Opener Bharath Chipli’s 189 (209b, 28x4, 3x6) and his 298-run first-wicket partnership with K.B. Pawan (92) propelled KSCA XI to 466 for five in its quota of 100 overs against Hyderabad CA in the KSCA all-India invitation tournament semifinal at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday.

Deepak Chougule (64) and Gaurav Dhiman (65 n.o.) also joined the run feast, while Vinay Kumar missed out as he was run-out after Dhiman’s drive grazed bowler Indershekar Reddy and knocked down the stumps at the non-striker’s end.

Vinay failed to ground his bat in time and was out for a blob.

In the other semifinal at the RSI Ground, KSCA President’s XI scored 300 in 99.4 overs against TNCA XI.

The scores:

KSCA XI 466 for five in 100 overs (Bharath Chipli 189, K.B. Pawan 92, Gaurav Dhiman 65 n.o., Deepak Chougule 64) vs Hyderabad CA.

KSCA President’s XI 300 in 99.4 overs (Sunil Raju 66, Devaraja Patil 45, Thamizh Kumaran four for 49) vs TNCA XI. — Principal Correspondent
