One labourer dies and 12 fall sick

Lucknow: One labourer has died and over a dozen have fallen sick after inhaling a gas leaked at a plastic factory in Sarojini Nagar area here, police here said on Saturday.

The gas leakage was reported on last Monday and several labourers, who were admitted to the hospital complained of uneasiness, vomiting, headache and were behaving abnormally, police said.

A labourer Chotu Maurya died in the hospital on Friday evening, they said. They said a team of doctors has rushed to the spot to ascertain the type of the gas at the factory which has been close for past few months.
