BANGALORE: The 21st edition of Devnandan Ubhayaker Yuva Sangeet Utsav got under way on Saturday with recitals by Bheemanna Jadhav on the “sundari” and Sonali Sinha Biswas (vocal). Sonali did not seem to make a confident beginning in “bihag.” After a hesitant “vilambit,” she picked up a bit in “dhrut” with the composition “Ab soodana rahe mohe aaj Shyam…”, concluding creatively with the line “Ab ho laalana maika”. Bheemanna’s “sundari” performance in “yaman” won the hearts of the audience more for the uniqueness of the instrument.
