ADILABAD: Almost all the 280 auxiliary nurse and midwifes (ANM) have reported for duties at respected places of postings which has eased the situation quite considerably, according to Adilabad District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) S. Mr. Vignanachary told The Hindu that diarrhoea is being reported more than viral fevers in the district especially in the agency areas. So far about 720 cases have been reported of which 3 ended up in deaths.

The department was also trying maintain one doctor per Primary Health Centre in the district. There were eight PHCs in the district which had two doctors each. One doctor each from these PHCs is being asked to look after the nearest PHC where there was no doctor, he explained. Besides viral fevers and diarrhoea, five cases turned out positive for dengue but timely treatment saved the lives of those affected, he added.
