BJP flays MIM efforts on complaint against writer

HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party has represented to the Assembly Speaker for filing of non-bailable criminal case against MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and his arrest and abolition of membership of MIM MLAs involved in the attack on Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen on Thursday.

The State BJP executive member Venkataramani, City unit general secretary B.Venkata Reddi, BJP Greater Hyderabad Coordination Committee convenor G.R. Karunakar in a release said that though the Chief Minister had condemned the incident like all political parties, democrats, NGOs and promised to take action against the MLAs, the MIM activists filed a complaint against Taslima and demanded her arrest.

It only exposed the tacit understanding between the Congress and MIM, they alleged.
