They know it all

One could make out from her reaction that Geethu of Adarsh School knew the answer to the question.

But in the case of the star quizzer of the winning team from Reena Memorial School, figuring out that she knew most of the answers was not so easy.

A little boy from Deepthi Special School, Muhamma, was the star quizzer in the junior category.

These and other differently abled children were the participants in a quiz organised by the Adarsh Charitable Trust, Rotary Club of Thripunithura and Vinayaka Caterers on Saturday.

With good participation from special schools in various parts of the State, the quiz demonstrated the competitive spirit of the children.

Films and sports were the favourite themes but current affairs and general knowledge were not far behind.

The children answered a question on who was recently named the richest man in the world and also correctly picked the name of the State’s Finance Minister from three similar sounding names.

On the subject of films, they had the answers to all kinds of posers - be it the director of a film or the name of the characters, besides the actors and the name of the film.

In the end, the children got to ask quiz-master Renjini Menon questions.

One team stumped her by asking which animal had the longest gestation period.

Deepthi Special School, followed by Jyothis School, Kottayam, and Adarsh Special School, Kureekkad, were named the winners in the junior section.

Reena Memorial bagged the top honours, followed by Adarsh School and Shilpa Special School, Palluruthy, in the senior section.
