Their exclusive cultural programme proves to be a runaway hit
In sync: Doctors haling from Guntur and their children performing at a cultural programme organised by Samskruti Doctors Cultural Association in Guntur on Sunday. —
GUNTUR: It was a fun-filled night at the Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram as prominent doctors in the town sang, danced and mimicked their way into the hearts of the people. The night was cool and as mild showers draped the town, the Vignana Mandiram was reverberating with generous applause to the performances of doctors at the cultural programme, Samskruti, doctors exclusive. For a change, the doctors put aside their surgeon caps and aprons and wore the cap of a singer, dancer and a mimicry artiste and they did well. With their children joining the party, the programmes drew a well rounded applause from the crowd. As secretary of the cultural dais, Kusuma prodded the men and women on the stage and the crowd off the stage, the actors dished out a variety of fun-filled programmes, showcasing their talents. They were all there. If Sujatha, prominent nephrologist along with her daughter Harshita regaled the audience with rendering of a popular song from the movie `Jeans’, T.T.K. Reddy provided the classical touch with the rendering of “Eee Nallani Rallolo.” The tiny tots, Kavya, Haneela, Kyati and Vijayalakshmi showed their prowess in classical dance and the young doctors Chinna, G, Rajesh group pepped up the ambience with western dance numbers. ``All these doctors practiced with commitment and passion and showed their versatile skills. We want to continue with our endeavour of organising similar cultural shows,” said secretary of the organisation, Dr. Kusuma. Earlier, Global Hospital cardio-thoracic surgeon Gopala Krishna Gokhale appreciated the efforts of the organisers in holding such events and said that such events provide a refreshing change for the doctors, who lead a hectic life. He said that it was heart warming to see and share some moments with his teachers, colleagues and friends.
