CHENNAI: Minister for Cooperation Ko Si Mani on Saturday appealed to the people to make use of the Public Distribution System (PDS) to buy essential commodities as they were being sold at subsidised price. He said the Chief Minister had set aside Rs. 1,950 crore as subsidy for effective implementation of PDS.
A statement issued here said the Minister had conducted inspection at fair price shops in Kilpauk, Shenoy Nagar and Anna Nagar and found that kerosene supplied to each cardholder was short in supply of 50 milligram.
