Protest against ‘saffronisation of MCD’

NEW DELHI: To protest against what they called “saffronisation” of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Outer Delhi MP Sajjan Kumar and All-India Congress Committee secretary Jai Kishan will stage a demonstration at Town Hall on Monday.
The two leaders strongly condemned the inauguration of a tree plantation function at Sultanpur Mazra by the Delhi BJP organising secretary recently.
They termed his act of publishing his name on the function’s invitation card as “unconstitutional” and against the established traditions of the MCD.
According to the two leaders, in addition to the organising secretary’s name other names of BJP office-bearers who are not elected representatives were also printed on the invitation card.
