Painting competition on ‘renewable energy’

HYDERABAD: National-level painting competitions on the theme ‘Renewable Energy’ were conducted by the Non-Conventional Energy Development Corporation Ltd., at Jawahar Bal Bhavan on Sunday on the occasion of ‘Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas (Renewable Energy Day)’. Sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the competition had participation from students of others States such as Meghalaya, Assam, West Bengal and Punjab.

Tanushri Ghorai from Aswapuram in Khammam topped the competition, while M. Mrinalini from the same village and D. Sampath Reddy from Nalgonda secured the second and the third prizes respectively. Akanksha Srikanth from Golconda, J. Srilekha from Guntur and G. Sri Teju from Warangal won consolation prizes. The prizes will be given away by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on August 20 at a function to be held at Lalitha Kala Thoranam.
