Bid to set rangoli record

BANGALORE: The 3-km road in front of the High Court in Cubbon Park will wear myriad colours on Independence Day when an attempt will be made to set a world record in mass rangoli. A national flag will be hoisted in front of the Seshadri Memorial Hall.
Over 3,000 people will take part in the attempt organised by the Suvarna Jyothi Trust. Each person will get a 4 ft by 4 ft space to draw the rangoli in 45 minutes, starting exactly at 11 a.m. The event will be recordedand sent to officials of Guinness World Records, the trust’s office-bearer Vinod Kumar told presspersons here on Monday.
Mr. Kumar said the trust would hoist a flag measuring 45 ft x 67.5 ft. A stand measuring 50 ft x 70 ft was being made ready for hoisting the flag, he said.
