New batch set to become executive MBAs

CHENNAI: The fourth Global Executive MBA batch (2007-09) of the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, began class on Sunday.

The batch has 33 participants from several Indian and global companies. It comprises senior managers of levels right up to vice-president as well as entrepreneurs and a select group of youngsters.

The Global Executive MBA is a two-year-long programme.

It includes an opportunity to learn Chinese as part of the curriculum, and take on a country visit to the United States of America with a visit to Kellogg’s Business School.

TVS Electronics Director and CII Tamil Nadu State Council Chairman Gopal Srinivasan and Rural Development secretary Ashok Vardhan Shetty were the chief guests at the programme.

Mr. Vardhan, in his keynote address, said that the good thing about the Great Lakes course was that despite the competition it had managed to attract the best and most experienced teachers as well as the most serious students.
