President’s Medal for two police officers

JAIPUR: Two Rajasthan police officers will get the President’s Medal for distinguished service, while 14 others will be given the Police Medal for meritorious service at the State-level Independence Day function in Jodhpur on August 15.

State Principal Secretary (Home) V.S. Singh said here on Monday that Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje would present the medals at the ceremony being held in Jodhpur for the first time.

The President’s Medal will be given to Sub-Inspector Salauddin Siddiqui and Deputy Inspector-General of Police Sunil Mathur.

Ms. Raje will give away cash prizes to six police officers in recognition of their contribution to rescue and relief operations in flood-affected Malva and Kawas villages of Barmer district last year.

The police personnel evacuated a large number of marooned people and searched out about 25 bodies from the flood waters.

Mr. Singh said Superintendent of Police (Jaipur East), Vijay Kumar Singh and Circle Officer (Jaipur East) Gyan Chand Yadav would get certificates of merit for their contribution to the development of the Shipra Path police station that led to its selection among 461 model police stations in 23 developing countries.
