PDS rice seized

Krishnagiri: A total of 720 bags of rice, worth Rs.4.32 lakh and meant for supply under the Public Distribution System were seized by Revenue officials on Monday.

A team, led by District Revenue Officer V. Mohanraj, during vehicle checks, intercepted a lorry proceeding from Attur to Bangarapet and seized 320 bags of rice. Another team intercepted a lorry at Varatanapalli and seized 400 bags of rice.

The Food Cell police have registered a case. — Staff Reporter
