THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Employees of 10 companies under the Industries Department will receive higher bonus than last year before Onam. The issue of bonus payment in these companies was settled to the satisfaction of the employees at a discussion convened by Industries Minister Elamaram Karim and Labour Minister P.K. Gurudasan here on Monday, the Industries Minister’s office said in a release. In United Electricals, the employees will get Rs. 5,000 as bonus and Rs. 1,000 as festival batta. In Traco Cables, the bonus will come to Rs. 2,600 and festival batta Rs. 1,000. In Malabar Cements, the bonus will be Rs. 9,000, while in Travancore Titanium Products (TTP) it has been fixed at Rs. 7,000. Employees of TTP will also get Rs. 1,000 as festival batta. Those in Kerala High-Tech Industries will receive a bonus of Rs. 9,000 in addition to festival batta at the level the Government will fix for its employees. In Steel Industrial Forgings, the bonus will be Rs. 12,500. Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited will give Rs. 15,000 as bonus, in addition to a gift coupon for Rs. 4,500 to each employee. Kerala State Industrial Enterprises will give Rs. 10,000 as an ex-gratia payment. Kerala Electrical and Allied Engineering Company will pay its employees an ex-gratia payment of Rs.4,000.
