Trishul: ‘no leasing violations’
Staff Reporter
KONUPPALAPADU (ANANTAPUR DT.): The all-party legislators’ committee, minus TDP and BJP members, who opted out of the visit, on Monday visited the land leased out to Trishul cement company here, and after probing the documents, records and officials concerned, they felt that there appeared to be no major violations in the leasing process.
However, they opined that the leasing system based on the laws made during the British period was unscientific and irrational. They would recommend amendments to the laws and mining activity, they stated during the visit. The committee was informed by the Mines and Geology Department Director, V.D. Rajagopal that 1,605 acres land was leased out to the company.
The officials led by Mr. Rajagopal explained that there would be nobody affected by the cement company and its mining activity.
