Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa met party central leaders in Delhi on Monday and briefed them about the political situation in the State, especially with respect to the transfer of power from the Janata Dal (S) to the BJP.

According to sources in the BJP, Mr. Yediyurappa expressed confidence that the transfer of power will take place on October 3 as per the power-sharing agreement between the Janata Dal (S) and the BJP.

Mr. Yediyurappa told them that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy had made it very clear to him that the transfer of power would take place as per the agreement.

However, he is learnt to have requested party central leaders Rajnath Singh, L.K. Advani and A.B. Vajpayee to speak to Janata Dal (S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda to set the stage ready for the transfer of power if any problem arises in the future.

Katta Subramanya Naidu and R. Ashok, Ministers, accompanied Mr. Yediyurappa during his Delhi visit.
