AMU V-C calls on President

ALIGARH: Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor P. K. Abdul Azis has invited President Pratibha Patil to be the chief guest at the Founder’s Day celebrations of the university on October 17.

Prof. Azis, who met the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi over the weekend, extended the invitation to her personally. Ms. Patil is also the Visitor of the University.

Prof. Azis also met Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari. He described Mr. Ansari’s elevation to the high office as a proud moment for AMU. Mr. Ansari had studied at the University and began his career as a lecturer in the Department of Political Science. He also served his alma mater as Vice-Chancellor.
