The London County Council, in a 10-point guide to health for school-leavers, has told them to remember the danger of cigarette smoking. “Cancer of the lung is 20 times more common in heavy smokers than among those who do not smoke,” it said, adding, “Once the habit is formed it is difficult to break.”
