Fishermen’s team included in I-Day honours list

BANGALORE: Governor T.N. Chaurvedi will present on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations, awards to the persons and institutions who have excelled in different fields as well as a team of fishermen who saved the lives of sailors of a ship.
The institutions are Spastic Society of Karnataka and Arya Vysya Sangha of the city.
The individuals are film director Master Kishan, A.R. Shivakumar, Vaishnavi Kasturi, Vidwan T. Sunandaraj, Nagaraj P.V., Pushpalatha and K.C. Janardhan all from Bangalore and Naganandaswamy and Siddaraju from Tumkur. A team of 20 fishermen, which saved the lives of 21 sailors of an Eritrean ship off the Mangalore coast, will also get awards.
