Five held in cases of murder, robbery

NEW DELHI: Five young men have been arrested in Bijwasan here for alleged involvement in several cases of murder, robbery and car theft.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a trap and signalled two motorcycles to stop. The motorcyclists allegedly opened fire at the police and tried to escape. The police also fired in the air and overpowered them. The accused were later identified as Pawan, Praveen, Pradeep, Jugal and Sonu.

The gang was being run by Praveen alias Kuki from inside the Bhondsi jail, said the police.
