BANGALORE: In view of the Independence Day parade to be held from 9 a.m. at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Grounds on Wednesday, the police have made certain traffic diversions from 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. on Kamaraj Road and Cubbon Road. According to a press release from Commissioner of Police Neelam Achuta Rao, vehicles proceeding towards Manipal Centre from CTO Circle have to take a left turn on Central Street and go through Infantry Road, Safina Plaza, Main Guard Cross, Allies Circle, Dispensary Road and Dickenson Road Junction Vehicles proceeding towards CTO Circle from Manipal Centre have to take left turn at Kamaraj Road junction, towards Cauvery Arts and Crafts Circle, pass through Mahatma Gandhi Road, Anil Kumble Circle and BRV Junction. Vehicles going towards Cubbon Road from Anil Kumble Circle have to pass through Central Street, Infantry Road, Safina Plaza, Main Guard Cross, Dispensary Road, Kamaraj Road, Dickenson Road and Kamaraj Road junction, Cubbon Road (towards) Manipal Centre junction. The police have said that due to security reasons, invitees and others coming to the parade grounds would not be allowed to bring mobile phones, radios, umbrellas or other articles. All invitees have to be seated before 8.30 a.m. Invitees with yellow car passes will come to Cubbon Road and enter Gate-1 facing northern side of the parade ground and park their vehicles on the western side of the parade ground. VIPs with white car passes, Ministers, Secretaries, military officers and senior police officers have to use Gate 2 in front of Military Supply Depot and park their vehicles on the western side of the parade ground. Invitees with pink passes have to park their vehicles on BRV Police Parade Ground and enter through Gate-1. Green pass holders have to park their vehicles on Kamaraj Road and Main Guard Cross Road and enter through Gate-3. All vehicles carrying people participating in the parade and cultural events will enter the grounds through Gate-3; their vehicles are to be parked behind the fort wall inside the parade ground. All government vehicles have to enter through Gate-3 and park behind participants’ vehicles. Two-wheelers have to be parked on Kamaraj Road and their drivers should enter through Gate 3. Those without car passes can park on Kamaraj Road and enter through Gate 3.
