PUDUCHERRY: Lt. Governor Mukut Mithi, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, MPs, Ministers and political party leaders have greeted the people of Puducherry on the occasion of the 60th Independence Day here on Wednesday. Mr. Mukut Mithi has urged the people to rededicate themselves to making India a great nation at all levels. Mr. Rangasamy in his message said that he was happy to greet the people of Puducherry on the occasion of India’s 60th Independence Day. “On this occasion, we must remember the sacrifice of freedom fighters, who had laid down their lives, and we must strive to safeguard the hard won freedom, Mr. Rangasamy said. Rajya Sabha MP V. Narayanasamy and Lok Sabha MP M. Ramdoss also extended their I-Day greetings. This is a victory for the UPA’s socio-economic-oriented development, they said.
