CHANDIGARH: Security was tightened across Punjab on Tuesday and anti-sabotage checks were conducted at all important places, in the wake of threats by anti-national forces ahead of Independence Day. Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order) Chandershekar said anti-sabotage checks were being conducted at vulnerable places like railway stations, bus stands and key roads that connect the State with Jammu and Kashmir. Blockades have been placed on the border to check influx of anti-national elements. — PTI
