Ashok’s plea to party cadre on Naidu roadshow

Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: The purpose of roadshow by Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on August 17 and 18 will not be served if party leaders and cadre considered it as a curtain raiser to election campaign, according to party Polit Bureau member P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju.

Addressing partymen at the general body meeting here on Tuesday, Mr. Raju said that the aim of the roadshow was to know the sufferings of people under the Congress rule.

He told them to identify problems, the government’s failures and project them before the party president.

At least, the party, as a major Opposition, could fight for their cause, he said. “Of course, we are not allowed to play our role,” he said and cited fixation of date for conduct of Zilla Parishad general body meeting on August 18 as an example when all MLAs, ZPTC members and MPPs would be busy in the roadshow.

He asked party leaders to make the roadshow a success.
