Yoga clinics to be opened in temples

Rajahmundry: Endowments Commissioner P. Sundarakumar has announced that the department will open ‘sahaja yoga clinics’ in seven temples in the State. The department has also drafted master plans to develop infrastructure of temples with Rs.200 crores.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that in the first phase, yoga clinics will come up in Annavaram, Yadagirigutta, Simhachalam, Srisailam, Vijayawada and Bheemavaram temples where devotees can get medical treatment free of cost.
The clinics would have special prayer halls, library, yoga centre, separate hall for installation of modern medical equipment, herbal and ayurvedic medicines along with allopathic.
He said that a director would be appointed at State level to monitor the clinics.
About the master plans, the Commissioner said that except TTD, infrastructure facilities would be provided to all temples like queue complexes and rest rooms. For the accountability, the department would publish the budgets of all the 21 big temples and 65 medium temples in the State, through which people would know the revenue and expenditure of the temples.
The Commissioner said the department would also set up 10 ‘agama schools’ and the first one would be opened at Annavaram.
