Notice to Government

BANGALORE: Justice B.S. Patil of the High Court of Karnataka has ordered issue of notice to the Government on a petition by a school challenging a notice withdrawing recognition to it.

The Deputy Director of Public Instruction had said though the school had taken permission to teach in Kannada, it was not doing so.

Dismissed

The same court on Tuesday dismissed two petitions, both by voters of Chickballapur, challenging the reservation of wards in the local body.

The judge upheld the State’s contention that it was done as per the law.
