MUMBAI: In a mixed but volatile trading, the stock markets ended in the negative terrain on Tuesday on alternate bouts of buying and selling in line with Asian indices, despite the market breadth being positive. Brokers said operators and retailers were still hesitant to make any fresh purchases but preferred to take profits at current levels to play safe on global concerns, which led to heavy battering last week. Moving erratically in a narrow range of 15069.64 and 14964.66, the BSE 30-share barometer Sensex concluded the day down by 16.30 points at 15000.91 against Monday’s close of 15017.21. The broader S&P CNX Nifty of the NSE moved between 4394.30 and 4354.35 before closing at 4370.20 against the previous close of 4373.65. — PTI
