Arjun, Ann bag titles

KOCHI: Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya’s Arjun Manoj and Nava Nirman’s Ann Sara Arun won the under-12 boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the Talco Trophy all-Kerala children’s chess tournament at the Kadavanthra YMCA.

K.S. Anees Mohammed (Sivagiri PS, Aluva) bagged the under-15 title.

Final placings: Boys: Under-15: 1. K.S.Anees Mohammed (Sivagiri PS, Aluva, 5 pts), 2. Jojo Jose (Nava Nirman, Kakkanad, 5), 3. Alka Raj (St Teresa’s, Ekm, 5). Under-12: 1. Arjun Manoj (Bhavan’s Adarsha Vi dyalaya, Kakkanad, 7 pts), 2. S. Anand (Varuna Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, 6), 3. Sanjay B. Kuriakose (St Patrick’s Academy, Angamaly, 6).

Girls: Under-12: Ann Sara Arun (Nava Nirman, Kakkanad, 5 pts), 2. R.Gowri (Varuna Vidyalaya, Kkd, 5), 3. Sreelakshmi (Bhavan’s Adarsha, 4).

Best school: 1. Nava Nirman, Kakkanad (97 pts), 2. St Patrick’s Academy (Angamaly, 41).
