Bangalore: Ending days of speculation over a probable invite from the Indian Cricket League (ICL), E.A.S. Prasanna confirmed that he has been approached for a coaching profile. “Yes I have got feelers from the ICL. The discussions are at an early stage. I always wanted to coach young and talented spinners and churn out match-winners and the kind of role that the ICL offered me is suited to that objective. “I am interested in the ICL and I am happy with their cricketing objectives. Though based in Bangalore, I was hardly involved with the National Cricket Academy and even with the BCCI, I have got only limited opportunities, so my reasoning is that if the ICL is offering me a role that will help me guide young cricketers, why not consider it ?,” Prasanna said. The off-spin legend might well have some company in the ICL as his former India and Statemate Syed Kirmani has also been approached for a probable coaching role. — Principal Correspondent
