Naveen on song for Sporting XI

HYDERABAD: Naveen’s 95 for Sporting XI was the highlight of the drawn A division two-day match against Kosaraju in the Hyderabad Cricket Association league here on Tuesday.

The scores:

A – division two days: Kosaraju 176 (Rajesh 78; Shiva Prasad five for 58) drew with Sporting XI 225 (Naveen 95).

Sayi Satya 215 (Ram Kumar 84, Dinesh Madas 60) drew with Brothers’ XI 140 (Syed Mansoor 84 n.o.; D. Praneeth Kumar four for 15).

A-3 division: SUCC 167 for nine (Amresh 68) beat OMC 97 (Liyaquath five for 38).

A-institution: BHEL 98 (Ananth five for 42) lost to Hyderabad Bottling 99 for one (Rajni 42 n.o.).

D-division: RR Dist. 291 (Vineeth 85, Ramana Babu 64, Yashwanth 51; Rama Krishna five for 34) beat Lucky XI 179 (Aman 47; Khezar Hussain seven for 23).
Hasan, Zaheer shine

Hasan’s 53 and Zaheer Ali’s haul of five for 40 enabled Warangal post a comfortable 126-run win over Medak in the inter-district under-19 cricket tournament at Nizamabad.

The scores: Warangal 202 (Hasan 53) beat Medak 76 (Zaheer Ali five for 40).
HCA notification

All matches scheduled to be played at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad have been postponed to August 25 due to non-availability of venue.
Exhibition match

To mark the 60th Independence Day celebrations, an exhibition football match will be played at the Gymkhana Grounds, Secunderabad on Wednesday at 4 p.m. between Kannan XI and Yousuf Khan XI. The teams derive their names from the two Olympians, who hail from the Twin Cities and are no more.

The teams:

Kannan XI: Mohd. Asif, Rock, Johnson, Prakash, Murali, Vimal, Jude, Andrews, Sailesh, Roshan, Alfred, Mani Bhushan, Anbu Alagan, Prabhakar Reddy. Coaches: Jesu Raj (SCR), Christopher (SBH).

Yousuf Khan XI: Mohd. Ali Khan, Mohd. Aslam, Digamber Rao, Mohd. Omar, Majid Khan, Iftekar, Hydar, Akbar Abidi, Alamdhar, Fareed, Keizer, Zaki, Siraj, Mouzam. Coaches: Mohd. Nehdi (SCR), Syed Arif (SBI).
