TIRUCHI: Host Paventhar Bharthidasan CET edged out Saranathan EC 45-21 and defended the title in the Anna University inter-collegiate (zone VIII) basketball tournament here on Tuesday.

The results: Final: PAB CET 45 (Anish 14, Ramkumar 13) bt Saranathan EC 21 (Santosh 10). Third place: Anjalaiammal Mahalingam CE 40 (Senkathirselvan 15) bt Jayaram CET 24 (Rajesh 18).
