Rice smuggler jailed

THENI: A habitual rice smuggler, C. Subramani (46) of Keezha Gudalur, has been detained under the Prevention of Black Marketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980, as directed by Collector Har Sahay Meena. He was arrested on the charges of smuggling PDS rice from Uthamapalayam. Mr. Meena saidt surveillance has been intensified on the district borders.
