Kalam to visit Sangareddy today

Sangareddy: Local sports stadium is decked up for the arrival of former President of India A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who will be inaugurating the Lead India’s mass training programme on Wednesday.

In all, 15,000 students drawn from over 100 schools and colleges in the district will participate. Other than the students from welfare hostels, recipients of Nirmal Gram Purskar have also been invited to the programme. A gigantic rainproof tent as been erected at the grounds and the whole area has been handed over to the police for ‘sanitation’ purpose.

Speaking to The Hindu, Superintendent of Police R.B. Nayak said that adequate security for the former President had been provided at the Inspection Bungalow, sports stadium and the BVRIT and MNR Medical Colleges which the President would be visiting on Thursday. Over 300 police personnel would be deployed at these places along with the mandatory ‘Z Plus’ category security.

The former President, who will visit the Narsapur-based BVRIT institution on Thursday, will also launch the Centre Aiming for Rural Transformation (CART) at MNR Medical College. He will also inaugurate a state of the art library and knowledge centre then address students at the auditorium.
