Congress MLAs to meet Sonia Gandhi

DAVANGERE: A delegation of over 50 Congress MLAs will go to Delhi soon to meet party president Sonia Gandhi and appeal to her not to re-form a coalition with the Janata Dal (Secular) in the State.

According to senior party functionaries, the delegation will apprise the party high command about the fallout of such an alliance. The MLAs would prefer mid-term elections instead. The functionaries claimed that the JD(S) had approached the Congress to form a coalition, and a few senior Congress leaders too had expressed interest in the alliance.
