High Court dismisses petition against Chief Minister
Legal Correspondent
Hyderabad: Justice K. C. Bhanu of the Court on Tuesday dismissed a revision petition that challenged the judgement of a trial court at Pulivendula in Kadapa district in a case relating to Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s election affidavit on his land holdings.
EC inquiry
It may be recalled that the Election Commission had ordered inquiry into allegations that Dr. Reddy had not filed correct affidavit on his assets while filing his nomination from the Pulivendula constituency during the last Assembly elections in 2004.
Report
The returning officer conducted the enquiry and submitted his report.
The Commission directed that a case be filed in the competent court.
This particular case was filed in the trial court at Pulivendula which later dismissed it.
The revision petition against this dismissal was preferred to the High Court and it came up before Justice Bhanu.
The judge felt that there are no grounds to interfere with the same and dismissed the revision petition.
