Governor watches films on freedom movement
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Monday evening was a little different for Governor T. N. Chaturvedi. He was seen glued to the screen for almost two hours. In fact, he was watching short films on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the First War of Independence in 1857, the Quit India Movement and the Salt March, among others.
The special screening organised by the Films Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting seems to have impressed Mr. Chaturvedi as he was seen nodding appreciatively at intervals.
Other films screened included those on the Second World War with the Quit India resolution passed by the Indian National Congress in August 1942, and the call for the Swaraj, and the Swadeshi movement, which also marked the period of the partition of Bengal.
