Alleged acid attack on woman

NEW DELHI: A 46-year-old woman sustained 30 per cent burns after her former son-in-law allegedly threw acid on her at Mangolpuri here on Tuesday.

Shahnawaz called Pyari Bibi out of her house around 11 a.m. and after enquiring about her daughter threw acid on her. While Shahnawaz vanished from the scene, Pyari, who is a rag-picker, was rushed to hospital. She is now stated to be out of danger.

The police have registered a case and launched a hunt for Shahnawaz.
