Bomb scare at Howrah station

KOLKATA: Security personnel were in a tizzy following a bomb scare after two tiffin-boxes containing a timer device were found in one of the compartments of a passenger train waiting to leave Howrah station on Wednesday morning.

Bomb disposal experts were summoned and on examining the boxes concluded that the device was not an explosive. The boxes belonged to an engineering student and the device might be model of a project of his, the police surmised. The train’s departure was delayed.
